EarthLink Webmail Settings - A Complete Guide

EarthLink recently announced that its IMAP email service is available to all customers of the EarthLink email service. If you're an EarthLink Mail user, then you can now connect EarthLink to Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, or other email programs. To access Earthlink email accounts in the email client, you will need the Earthlink webmail settings.

Earthlink Webmail IMAP Settings

  • Incoming Mail Server: imap.earthlink.net
  • Incoming Port Number: 143
  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
  • Outgoing Port Number: 587

Earthlink Webmail POP Settings

  • Incoming Mail Server: pop.earthlink.net
  • Incoming Port Number: 110
  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
  • Outgoing Port Number: 587

Connect Earthlink to Outlook using IMAP

  1. Start Outlook
  2. Go to the File and click on the Add Account
  3. Choose Manual Setup or additional server types option and click on the Next button.
  4. Choose the POP or IMAP option and click on the Next button
  5. In User Information, enter the name and email Address
  6. In Server Information, choose IMAP as an Account Type
  7. Enter imap.earthlink.net as an Incoming mail server
  8. Enter smtpauth.earthlink.net as an Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  9. In Logon Information, enter your EarthLink email address and password
  10. Click on the More setting button
  11. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and select My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires Authentication checkbox
  12. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  13. Go to the Advanced tab and enter 143 as the Incoming Server (IMAP)
  14. Enter 587 as the Outgoing Server (SMTP) and select SSL from use the following type of encrypted connection dropdown
  15. Click on the OK button and click on the Next button.
  16. Once the testing process gets completed, click on the Close button.
  17. Click on the Finish button to exit from the window.

Configure Earthlink to Outlook Express using POP

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click on the Tools menu and select Accounts
  3. Click on the Add button and select Mail
  4. Enter Name and click on the Next button
  5. Enter Earthlink email address and click on the Next button
  6. Select POP3 from My incoming mail server dropdown
  7. Enter pop.earthlink.net as an Incoming Mail server
  8. Enter smtpauth.earthlink.net as an Outgoing server and click on the Next button
  9. Enter Earthlink email address and password
  10. Select Remember password checkbox and click on the Next button
  11. Click on the Finish button
  12. Select Account and click on the Properties
  13. Go to the Servers tab and Check My server requires authentication
  14. Click on the Settings button and select Log on using
  15. Enter the email address, password, select Remember password checkbox and click on the OK button
  16. Enter 587 as an Outgoing Mail (SMTP), click on the Apply, and click on the OK button
